Okay! It's time to talk a little bit about Men's fashion trends...

Dear men,
Looking good, is essential. I know that you're usually confused whether the socks have to match with the trousers, etc...
First of all, there are 6 rules you have to live by... I hope that it will at least clear up some confusion about few things... hehe

1. Always match your belt with your shoes.
This is a good rule to follow and it keeps things simple. It's best to stay with traditional colors such a black, dark brown or a rich tan. Other colors will be difficult to match, and generally speaking, should be avoided. If you wear sneakers every day that probably means you are wearing jeans in which case I suggest trying a belt made of fabric or something equally as casual, but please avoid dress belts with jeans and sneakers. If you wear suspenders, I am compelled to ask you why, but I digress. Just don't wear a belt and suspenders together, it's one or the other.

2. Matching Ties and Shirts.
Try mixing things up a little and experiment with colors. . Just make sure your tie compliments your shirt, suit, sweater or what ever you will be wearing it with. Novelty ties are best avoided since the novelty is short lived.
Note: Ties should be tied in whatever style most strikes your fancy. You should know that there are many different ways to knot your tie, and different knots say different things. I prefer the Windsor or the four-in-hand, but I do suggest that you explore a little just for kicks. As for clip on ties--just say no.

3. Pleats vs. Flat-Front.
Why so many men have avoided flat-front trousers has always been a mystery to me. Flat-front trousers look better than pleated pants, at least most of the time. Plus pleats make you look less slim. I have heard guys wear pleats because it’s more comfortable or because flat-fronts are more for athletic bodies. Truth is most men can wear a flat-front trouser. If you want more room then buy them a little big and have them brought in at the waist. This can be done at the store where you buy your clothes or by an independent tailor.

4. Socks.
Avoid colored socks!!! Wear black, simple socks or gray...and let them match please!! :)
Note: Although it should be obvious, white socks should be reserved for the gym/sports.

5. Watches are the single most important accessory a man can own. I really suggest investing in one good watch that suits your lifestyle and taste. However, if you are someone who likes to own more than one watch, wear the appropriate timepiece for your outfit: black band with black shoes and belt; brown band with brown shoes and belt; and silver band for either.

6. Eyeglasses
They don't have to just serve a function, but can enhance your overall look. Do your best to find a pair of glasses that not only compliments the shape of your face, but also expresses your personality.

'70s sophistication

Designers or even women at home, are creating their clothes with an inspiration from the '70 and '80 sophistication ....
The old fashion is coming back...
Here is a little look on the new fashion ('70)
We all want that vintage vibe in our wardrobe. That essence of an era gone by. And we want to cherry pick the sleekest, sexiest, and most stylish looks from it. In recent years we've worn the best of the 20s and 30s, seen the rebirth and fading of an 80s come back, and we're just about to do it all again. But this time, its the 1970s that are due for a reinterpretation.
While '70s fashion is making waves and sure to continue on as a fashion trend in 2011, let's not forget that there are several variants. And you know what that means; all the more ways to get lots of wear out of your key seventies pieces, by taking them from '70s boho to a more sophisticated '70s look.

'70s sophisticate: the look

There's an underlying confidence to this trend that's key. Even the more demure looks need to be carried off with an air of sexuality and a sort of defiant independence. There's a boldness. It's in the addition of that floppy felt hat, those exotic jewels, that super-high pair of platforms. At night time the hint can snowball into a statement: think Bianca Jagger at Studio 54 in a slinky gown, ivory cigarette holder in hand, and you've got the picture. Read on for tips for both day and night time looks.

How to use the '70s sophistication by day?

By day it's all about clean yet voluminous silhouettes, and earthy '70s colour palettes. Look for:
  • High waisted wide-leg pants or flares, smartly belted in.
  • Neat bow-blouses, especially ones with billowing or bishop sleeves. Particularly great are fabrics like silk and satin.
  • Roll neck sweaters tucked into pants or skirts. Add to the '70s effect by layering over beaded necklaces or a vest.
  • For those more daring, a pair of hot pants are the ultimate '70s item.
  • A smart printed jumpsuit is another great alternative.

How to use the '70s sophistication by night?

By night the '70s sophisticate turns into the ultimate socialite, with look-at-me shimmering fabrics and cuts that either tightly hug or sensually drape over the body.
  • Choose high sheen fabrics with a '70s disco-inspired edge, like lurex or silk; anything with a metallic thread.
  • Add a ruffled neckline under a brocade blazer or tuxedo jacket, paired with a sharp pair of pants.
  • Long, slinky gowns with draping, low necklines or dress slits are the ultimate in '70s night time glamour.

And if you want a simple stylish dress for the day, and let people look at you with big wide eyes, here is one key... look at this picture ;)

What's Vanina? And who's Vanina?

Vanina is a Lebanese Brand.
Two girls created it: Joanna Hayek & Tatiana Fayad, and they're both Lebanese Student in Beirut.
In 2006, a new war comes in to Lebanon. Everyone is staying home. Everyone is afraid of the bombs. There's nothing to do.
These girls take this opportunity to create a mini line of jewelry that will be sold. The benefits will be taken as a charity auction organized for children suffering from heart problems.
This mini collection had a great success very quickly. There were a lot of commands. This first collection won a big hit! They had this brilliant idea to recycle old Lebanese coins into a colorful collection.
Since than, our two students hunt around old souks, flea, or even sometimes in antique shops. The Vanina's collection has it's unique identity.
They recycle, rebuilt and rehash old jewelry with always a good sense of humor and with many small messages about life.
So this is the story of Tatiana and Joanne... A story always fun, retro, romantic and poetics!
Wherever you are, go and see Vanina's collection (shoes, jewelry, bags, dresses, belts, etc...)
