The collection launched in November, and comprised a capsule line of womenswear designs based on iconic Gappieces.Designed by Valentino’s creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, the collection will be sold in select branches of Gap in Italy, Paris and London, with styles going into the Oxford Street flagship and Dover Street Market.
The Valentino collection is the latest in a series of well-edited designer collaborations for Gap, following Pierre Hardy’s ongoing footwear range, Stella McCartney’s well received children’s line in 2009, and a line of shirt designs by New York designers Rodarte, Doo-Ri Chung and Thakoon in 2007.
